The journal is sponsored by the Center for Investment Research. The Center was founded in 1993 by a prominent group of academics including Nobel Laureates Harry Markowitz and Larry Klein. The Center has funded research projects at a number of academic institutions since its inception.

The Editor of the journal is Brian Bruce. Brian has over 30 years of experience editing journals and teaching student managed investment fund classes. Brian has previously launched 6 investment journals and is currently the editor of Journal of Investing, the Journal of Beta Investment Strategies, the Journal of Impact & ESG Investing and the Journal of Behavioral Finance.
Brian was Visiting Professor of Investments and taught the student-managed investment class in the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University for 18 years and currently serves on the fund’s board. He also taught the student-managed portfolio classes for 11 years and served as the Director of the Finance Institute and Founding Director of the Alternative Asset Management Center at the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
